Historic Paramount Theatre in Seattle
Originally known as the Seattle Theatre, the Paramount first opened on March 1, 1928, ushering in the era of silent films. Throughout the “talkies,” vaudeville acts and Great Depression and onto Broadway musicals and modern rock, jazz, comedy and soul performances, the magnificent concert hall has solidified its recognition as an official City of Seattle landmark.

Widely considered the area’s premier performing arts venue, the opulent Paramount Theatre has hosted The Grateful Dead, Nirvana, Madonna and Pink Floyd. It was the “in” spot in the Roaring Twenties just as it is today. The Silent Movie Monday Series accompanied by the original Mighty Wurlitzer Organ is always a popular peek into the past. Located at 9th Avenue and Pine Street, the theatre’s stunning architecture alone is worth the price of a ticket.
