…cure the munchies, one meal at a time.

Did you know that in Washington, 1 in 7 people (and 1 in 5 children) struggle with hunger. More people are going to food banks, many for the first time. Most are working families. Half are children and the elderly.

Uncle Ike’s is holding a food drive through the month of December to help give back.

Stop by any location during the month of December, and bring 2 non perishable food items (see suggested items below) and receive 10% off any regularly priced product of your choice.*

More than 2 items are appreciated, but won’t warrant a second discount. But you’ll feel oh-so-good about helping those in need!

When donating food, select shelf-stable food with the lowest saturated fats and refined carbohydrates (sugar, white flour). Northwest Harvest buys white rice, beans, oats, pasta and tomato products in bulk, so we encourage you to donate other items. Here are some suggestions (ranked by importance):

General food items:

  • Beef stew, chili and similar meals with low salt, sugar and saturated fats
  • Canned fruit, especially with low sugar (but not artificial sweeteners)
  • Canned fish or meat
  • Peanut butter (plastic jars are preferred)
  • Canned vegetables (low sodium)
  • Brown rice
  • Whole grain pastas
  • Canned tomato sauces
  • Shelf-stable milk

Infant and baby foods:

  • Baby formula
  • Jars of baby food
  • Powdered or canned milk
  • Infant cereal

They also accept baby diapers.

In case you’re curious…
After Northwest Harvest picks up your donations from Uncle Ike’s, it is sorted by volunteers and packaged for distribution to our network of more than 375 food banks and meal programs throughout the state.
*Discount not combinable with other discounts.
